Středověké malířství a česká malba raného 19. století

The article focuses on the background to and the first manifestations of the historicising inspiration of medieval art in Czech painting after 1800. Looking at the period 1780-1840, it treats intellectual and stylistic developments and the formation of a comprehensive interpretation of medieval art in Bohemia. It analyses specific example of contemporary artwork, which reflected the inspiration of medieval art (Josef Führich, František Tkadlík and Josef Vojtěch Hellich).
