Nástěnné malby v kostele Panny Marie ve Starém Městě u Bruntálu
In 1994, notable wall paintings of surprising quality and monumentality were uncovered in the presbytery to the Church of the Virgin Mary in the Old Town near Bruntal; the most notable being a unique figure of Moses with the tablets and the other prophets, who are turned toward him. The author focuses on a detailed explanation of the iconography and her own interpretation of the paintings, at the same time searching for some important parallels in the Czech environment. On the basis of preserved historical sources, she dates the origin of the wall ornamentation to the 1490s, but concedes that it could have originated around 1419, when the list of indulgences was published.
