Podhorská architektura Josefa Hoffmanna
The article focuses on three of Josef Hoffmann's structures in the Jeseník foothills, which are among to the most significant works that the architect carried out in Bohemia and Moravia, namely the Primavesi family home in Kouty nad Desnou, Sigmund Berl's house in Bruntál and Fritz Grohmann's house in Vrbno pod Pradědem. The author describes the conditions surrounding the structures' creation and investigates their stylistic origins on the basis of analysis of the architectonic forms employed and Hoffmann's own texts. In addition, he also focuses on the builders, whose cultural and ideological convictions could be reflected in the resulting form of the individual structures.
