Tereza Johanidesová Wins the Second Biennial Competition for Young Authors Published in the Journal Umění/Art
On 24 May 2017 the results of the second biennial competition for young authors published in the journal Umění/Art were announced at an informal ceremony in Café Kampus. Seventeen researchers in the early stages of their careers took part in the competition, with a total of nineteen articles published in the high-impact journal Umění/Art in the period 2015–2016. The first prize went to Tereza Johanidesová for her article “‘Úzkost z vlivu' v dějinách umění”, i.e. “The ‘Anxiety of Influence’ in Art History” (Umění LXIII, 2015, pp. 250–262). The jury also gave a special mention to Jiří Koukal for his study “Der tote Freund von František Kovárna” (Umění LXIII, 2015, pp. 92–103) and to Martina Hrabová for the essay “The Parallel Worlds of František Sammer” (Umění LXIV, 2016, pp. 137–166). Original diplomas were designed for all the award-winners by Jan Šerých, who is responsible for the current graphic design of the magazine Umění/Art.
