Václav Trubka z Rovin - studie o měšťanském mecenátu v rudolfínské Praze

The subject of the article is Václav Trubka of Roviny, whom the authors focus on in connection with his patron activities. In 1604, this noted Prague citizen of the Utraquist persuasion ordered a monumental wall mural of the Last Judgement in the Church of the Virgin Mary by Týn, which was created by two painters: Jan Jindrovský and Ferdinand of Eysern, to whom the authors also attribute the thus far anonymous painting of the Assumption of Virgin Mary in the chapel of St Sigismund in the St Vitus Cathedral. The article also examines the question of the modification of artworks for buyers of different religious persuasions.
