Notes to Giovanni Pisano's Pistoia Pulpit

The article treats the reconstruction of the original form of the pulpit by Giovanni Pisano, which originally functioned as an ambo and was located until 1619 between the aisle and the raised presbytery in the Church of San Andrea. When it was moved to a level surface, the lower section of the pulpit was altered in a way that changed its formal structure and iconography.
