Das Frühwerk Peter Parlers am Prager Veitsdom

The article is devoted to the early works of Peter Parler in the St Vitus Cathedral in Prague. One of his first works in the cathedral was the construction of the sacristy. Through a detailed analysis, the author shows that Parler built the eastern wing of the sacristy according to an older plan of Matthias of Arras, in contrast to the western wing, which he tackled independently. The origin of the vaulted scheme is explained in a wider art-historical context. The article also focuses on the chapel's southern hall, which is marked by an unique spatial concept.
