The article summarises the state of research to date on the architect and sculptor Anton Pilgram. Recently, new perspectives have been advanced on the subject and it is therefore necessary to reflect on the present state of affairs. One of the major results of recent studies is the conclusion that Pilgram did not design the Church of St Kilian in Heilbronn.
