Strašná hrůza, přitažlivá
In 1940, Jindřich Štyrský painted a picture which he unexpectedly placed in a baroque frame. According to a verbal legend, the picture is named Oedipus. In this context, the author of the article highlights Štyrský's relationship to the baroque and, at the same time, interprets the painting in the context of the modern Czech art, within which it may represent a certain antithesis to the Salvator picture, painted by Jan Zrzavý.
