Tři návraty k Rumohrovi

The article deals with Karl Friedrich Rumohr, the founder of art history as a scientific subject, especially with respect to the later response to his theories. The first can be found with the architect Gottfried Semper in the second half of the 19th century, followed by Moritz Thausing. Through the personality of Thausing, Rumohr's ideas had a remarkable impact on the programme of the Viennese art history school. In 1920 Rumohr was recalled by Julius Schlosser who influenced Václav Richter and Vincenc Kramář. The latest traces of Rumohr's ideas are currently present in the work of Michael Baxandall. At the end, the study deals with three concepts of the late enlightenment period as seen within the current discourse of art history.
