Der "Meister der Madonna von Michle" - das Ende eines Mythos? Mit einem Anhang zur "neuen" Löwenmadonna der Prager Nationalgalerie

The authors revise the attribution, to date, of the group of sculptures to the Master of the Michle Madonna and his workshop. They demonstrate that the traditional assertion of the Brno provenance of the Michle Madonna is incorrect and that this work belongs to the circle of Prague sculpture. They regard the entire group as a local version of a broader current of mannerist European production. The end of the study focuses on the Madonna on the Lion from Klosterneuburg and its origin.
