Un exemple : la Hongrie. La naissance du modernisme au sein de ľart nouveau
The paper treats selected works by the painters József Rippl-Rónai (1861-1927) and Károly Kernstok (1873-1940). In 1896, the former made a High Art Nouveau interior, conceived as a closed private space, for Count Tivadar Andrássy. At the beginning of the second decade of the 20th century, the latter worked on the decoration of the Schiffer villa in Budapest. In terms of the spatial conception, the hall of the villa - the intellectual centre of the building - can be interpreted as a precursor to avant-garde trends.
