Der Treppenaufgang am Rathaus in Görlitz - Ein Bauwerk bürgerlicher Repräsentation
The staircase of the Zhořelec town hall constitutes one of the most important Renaissance works in this town. According to the inscription, it was completed in 1537 and decorated the entrance to the court room. The article provides a stylistic and iconographic analysis in a broader context. It also establishes that there is no proof to support the traditional attribution of the design to Wendel Roskopf or the sculptural elaboration to Andreas Walter I.
