The article treats the wooden statue of the Madonna on a Lion, purchased by the National Gallery in Prague. It is an important work by the Master of the Michelská Madonna, from an anonymous collection at the Klosterneuburg near Vienna. The author dates the statue to 1340-1345 and provides a detailed interpretation of its style and iconography, with reference to similar sculptures from the period.
