Dreaming Art
The author of the article deals with the usefulness of psychoanalysis for art research from the standpoint of feminism, cultural studies, and postcolonialism. Drawing on conclusions made by the psychoanalyst Christopher Bollas who exploited Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams, she shows in what sense Bollas's alternative may be useful for art history in relation to an analysis of dream paintings and pictorial imagination.
