Portréty v divadelních kostýmech ze zámku v Hrádku u Nechanic v kontextu portrait historié
The term portrait historié refers to a type of artistic stylisation in which the figures depicted are identified with the protagonists of historical scenes. The works are thereby transformed into suitable instruments of political propaganda. This type of work is exemplified in the unique collection of sixteen portraits of figures in theatrical costumes from the chateau at Hrádek u Nechanic. The figures can be identified as members of the Habsburg dynasty and the upper aristocracy of Vienna.
