"Upálení sv. Jana Husa" na malovaných křídlech utrakvistického oltáře z Roudník
The wings of the altarpiece from Roudník represent the only known monumental painting of the burning of (St) Jan Hus at the stake from the 15th century. The article presents a historical and formal analysis of the work, as well as a detailed study of the genesis of the scene of the burning of (St) Jan Hus at the stake in the context of late Gothic painting. This iconography mainly derives from the text of Petr of Mladoňovice, an eyewitness of the execution at Constance.
