Violent Humour: Caricature of Cubism in Prague, 1912-1914
The arrival of cubism in the Czech environment after 1910 attracted the attention of Czech caricaturists. Besides the Humoristické listy magazine, caricatures also appeared in the Umělecký měsíčník monthly, which was the platform of the group of artists called Skupina výtvarných umělců. On these examples, the study observes more general relationships between cubism and the social and political situation before World War I.
