Nástěnná malba kola Štěstěny v komnatě strakonického hradu

The mural of the Wheel of Fortune in the old palace of the Strakonice castle was unveiled in 1994-1995. The mural is the oldest preserved Czech mural with this motif, the origins of which can be traced back to ancient mythology. In connection with the building's origins and with respect to its formal characteristics, the painting has been dated to the last quarter of the 13th century. The author goes on to consider its origin and significance in a wider context.
