Karel Teige and the ´wissenschaftliche Weltauffassung´

The article responds to the polemic between Simone Hain and Rostislav Švácha concerning Teige's connection with logical empiricism. While Hain argues that such a connection exists, Švácha rejects the idea. The author points out that Hain's views are untenable. At the same time, he expresses reservations about Švácha's stance. The author argues that although one does not find doctrinaire logical empiricism in Teige's work, Teige shared certain tenets in common with the movement.
